We recently used Patrice Mai to advise us on various pieces of interior design work around our new house. Following our initial consultation, Patrice listened and produced a clear and comprehensive list of suggestions for both the design element of our new bathroom and the items that we would need to purchase which made the process very straight-forward. The plans were so detailed that the trades worked straight from them. When we raised any queries they were responded to promptly and the overall cost of the project was in line with the budget that we shared with Patrice at the beginning. I have always wanted to make some changes to my living space no matter how small. The problem was there was either no time or finance for me to tackle my situation. However, this all changed when I had a chance meeting with Miss Patrice. I found Patrice easy to talk to and I told her what my budget was.

Patrice made a follow-up visit to my place and we discussed the possibilities and options in transforming my bedroom that was definitely in need of uplifting. Patrice was able to put me at ease and during the course of time, I felt very comfortable in her presence. Patrice did her measurements, initial concept, and draft drawings. We discussed the plans she created and she asked me careful questions to see if any alterations were needed. The bedroom was to be shared with my Husband (Mike) who was a bit reluctant to come on board with my idea that `after 14 years the bedroom was in need of change'.

I also wanted my 12-year-old Daughter`s bedroom done up as well. Patrice showed my daughter (Talia) a board of ideas that would work well in the small space available. I enjoyed working with Patrice because she got the gist of what I wanted ‘Something different, comfortable, sort of cosy but making the most of the small space available’. Patrice just had the innate ability to understand my needs and blend it with her knowledge of style, décor and taste preferences of my Daughter and Husband, who began to come around to the idea. Patrice was able to demonstrate her creativity with colour, patterns, texture, and use of space to manipulate the aesthetics that resulted in an updated, relaxing and pleasing room, perfect to rest in at the end of the day. My daughter loved the end product when her bedroom was completed. It was fitted for a 12-year-old who turned 13 during the transformation of her room. Patrice understood what a teenager might want and mixed fun, edgy style with practicality, putting up a fun feature wallpaper with a practical desk so she has a nice space to get her work done. Patrice put up a beautiful pendant light with new roller blinds and other features, which altogether has created a beautiful room that Talia can continue to grow up in.

My family loves the work done by Miss McFarlane and the result she was able to produce using her masterful expertise, sense of style, colour and ability to outsource items needed to complement the final concept - her savvy use of rugs, cabinets, lighting, custom work station, and floating shelves creates a look that not only looks great but is practical for the client. Patrice's sense of judgment, intuitiveness came through in the spirit of her work that speaks well of her attention to interior structure and detail for design. I would not hesitate in recommending Patrice as an extremely reliable, tenacious and talented Interior Designer.

Patrice helped to design my living and dining space. After talking to her I felt understood, which was visual in mock designs she produced.
